Ten top-performing Spanish travel agents are experiencing some of the very best of Northern Ireland this week – with a special focus on sustainability – as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI. The agents all work with a major Spanish tour operator called Icárion.

The aim of the visit is to familiarise the travel agents with some of the many great sustainable tourism experiences available in Northern Ireland, as well as to highlight our rich culture and heritage, spectacular scenery and fantastic food and drink offering – and ultimately to secure more of the travel agents’ business in 2026 and beyond.

The itinerary includes Long Meadow Farm in Armagh – a family business that embraces eco-friendly agricultural practices to produce their craft ciders, apple juice and apple cider vinegar. At Dan Winter’s House in Loughgall, the group will learn about the conservation of this 400-year-old mud walled thatched cottage, before visiting St Patrick’s Cathedral and Navan Centre & Fort, as well as trying their hand at road bowling.

The sustainability focus continues in Fermanagh, with an Island Discovery Tour of Lough Erne onboard an all-electric solar boat, as well as visits to Finn Lough, Florence Court and Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail. A Belfast Hidden Tours experience, a Belfast city tour and Titanic Belfast also feature on their busy programme.

Susan Bolger, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Spain, said:“We are delighted to invite this group of Spanish travel agents to Northern Ireland. Their visit is an excellent opportunity to showcase some of our sustainable tourism experiences, as well as our superb visitor attractions, food and scenery. Our aim is that the travel agents will be more enthusiastic than ever about the destination when they return home – helping to secure a greater share of their business for Northern Ireland in 2026 and beyond.”

Spain is one of my favourite places to visit. The weather, the food, people and way of life make it a great place to visit.
