A Place in the Sun: Couple talk about family bereavement
A guest who appeared on the latest episode of A Place in the Sun was left in tears following an emotional revelation for his move to Spain.
On Wednesday night’s show (January 29), married couple Jesica and Karl were looking for the perfect family abode in Spain’s Costa de la Luz. With a budget of £95,000 the pair were open to several ideas that host Jasmine Harman presented to them.
But before their search commenced, Jesica and Karl revealed one of the real reasons for their move from Manchester to Spain. Minutes into the programme, Karl revealed that his son had passed away and the move was also aided by his memory.
As they explained their loss to Jasmine, the presenter comforted them with her words, labelling the loss as “heartbreaking.”
But emotions continued to be at an all-time high throughout the episode. After viewing two apartments in Spain, the couple were hopeful with what lay ahead and how much their budget could stretch.
However, the pair were blown away when Jasmine took Karl and Jesica to a three-bedroom home that was only slightly over budget. Upon entering the home, Karl broke down in tears over the £108K price tag and the amount of space that was on offer.
Gobsmacked by what he saw, Karl said: “I just never dreamed…with such a small budget,” he attempted to explain as the tears continued to flow.
Although property number three was a strong contender, it was Jasmine’s last property on her list which appeared to win the pair over. With guidance from their daughter Sophia who later joined them in the search, the trio decided to go for property number five which included two bedrooms and a stunning modern finish.
Karl and Jesica were serious buyers and managed to scoop the property for around £90,000. Seeing their victory, fans at home couldn’t help but congratulate the family.
One viewer said: “They’re crying, Jas is crying. We’re all crying. Genuinely chuffed for them.”
While another penned: “Well done. Happy for them.” And a third viewer echoed: “Nice to have a good positive episode of #aplaceinthesun.”
