A BRITISH holidaymaker has died on Spain’s Costa Tropical south of Granada after coming off his bike.
The 57-year-old tourist is said to have “passed out” while he was on the N-340 road on the outskirts of the resort town of Almunecar.

He was pronounced dead at the scene following unsuccessful attempts by local police to revive him.
The man is understood to been staying at a hotel in Nerja in the neighbouring province of Malaga around 12 miles west of the spot where he died.
The alarm was sounded around 12.30pm today.
Witnesses told emergency responders the cyclist had fallen off his bike before it emerged the incident was probably linked to a health problem he had suffered while he was practicing sport.

The Civil Guard are now awaiting the results of an autopsy before determining their next move, although there is nothing at this stage to suggest the death is crime-related.
Local reports described the other cyclists as friends who had been out cycling with him along Spain‘s southern coastline.
The attempts to revive him before he was pronounced dead are said to have lasted for around half an hour, with police using a defibrillator as part of their efforts to save him.
Although he hasn’t been named, the British man has been identified by his initials of N.N.
Almunecar’s Security Councillor Mari Carmen Martin Orce said afterwards she profoundly regretted what had happened and offered her condolences to the dead man’s friends and family.
The spot where the tragedy happened is between a restaurant called Mateano Restaurant and a hotel called Hotel California.
