Vall d’Ebo celebrated on Tuesday November 18 one of the most cherished weekends of its calendar with the Festa del Perelló, a festival deeply rooted in the municipality’s agricultural heritage. Organisers hailed the event as a resounding success, expressing special thanks to all participants and, in particular, the volunteers whose dedication “makes it a pleasure to celebrate.” The festival, held annually at the end of the perelló harvest and fermentation period, honours the fruit that symbolises the hard work of local families who continue to cultivate the land.

A rich programme of activities

The festival offers a wide-ranging programme, including an artisan market, gastronomic tastings and demonstrations of traditional trades. Activities began on Saturday morning with a free, guided hiking route to the Font d’en Gil at 9.30 am. Later, at 11 am, the official opening was marked by a colourful street parade, followed by children’s games and workshops until 2 pm. Music took centre stage at 12.30 pm with a concert by the Unió Musical de la Vall d’Ebo, preceding a communal lunch showcasing local produce. The day concluded with a disco event from 6 pm, sponsored by the Festeros de Sant Miquel.

Discovering the town’s hidden stories

Sunday kicked off with one of the weekend’s highlights: the guided urban tour “Ebo, living village: Stories in every corner,” which attracted 70 visitors. The walk offered participants a chance to uncover curious and lesser-known aspects of the town, complemented by a tasting of traditional rolls from María Isabel’s bakery. At the same time, the gastronomic workshop “Perelló cuisine” demonstrated innovative ways to prepare the fruit that defines the region.

Family fun and cultural highlights

Children’s games and workshops continued from 12 pm to 2 pm, ensuring that younger visitors were fully entertained. At 12.30 pm, the Muixeranga de Segària, a group performing traditional Valencian human towers, took to the stage, adding a spectacular cultural dimension to the day. The festival concluded with another communal lunch at 2 pm, highlighting the town’s commitment to preserving its flavours and traditions.
