The much loved International Christmas Festival returns to Arroyo de la Miel from November 28 to 30 at the Plaza de la Mezquita.
The Costa del Sol’s most multicultural Christmas celebration returns in the last weekend of November when the 16th Festival Internacional de la Navidad officially opens the festive season and transforms Plaza de la Mezquita in Arroyo de la Miel into a global holiday village to get everyone into the Christmassy mood.
Running from Friday, November 28, to Sunday, November 30, the three-day festival will open daily from 12pm to midnight, with free entry for everyone.
Multiple nationalities represented with stalls and live acts
Multiple nationalities will be represented, reflecting the town’s highly diverse population, including Chile, Ukraine, Colombia, the United States, Germany, Finland, Scotland, Ireland, Poland and many others, and will be showcasing how Christmas is celebrated in each of their countries from around the world through authentic gastronomy, original handcrafted gifts, live music and traditional dances. Visitors to the festival can sample everything from German stollen and mulled wine to Colombian empanadas and Ukrainian festive specialities while enjoying non-stop Christmas-themed performances on stage.
Some of the acts lined up to play on the main stage include the Costa Sol Singers, Tony Whitehouse, Sur Pipes Band, Wayne Ward, New Tricks, and Mama Cath & the Soul Singers. There will also be dance performances
Now in its sixteenth year, the International Christmas Festival has become a firm favourite on the Costa del Sol calendar and is far less expensive than making the trip into the centre of Malaga to get in the Christmas mood, perfectly launching the local holiday season before the traditional December festivities begin.
