The Russian international arranged for a private plane to take him home

Russian international Fedor Smolov became the second Celta Vigo player to break quarantine rules in Spain to return to his homeland.

Smolov asked Celta if he could return to Russia over the weekend and was told no. He returned anyway, though, charerting a private plane.

Celta say they will deal with the issue internally after repeatedly telling him that he could not leave Spain due to the State of Alarm in the country. The forward wanted to turn to Russia for his girlfriend’s birthday.

Last week, the Danish forward Pione Sisto also returned to his home country despite being told no by Celta. He drove for over 20 hours to get back to Denmark.

Spain is one of my favourite places to visit. The weather, the food, people and way of life make it a great place to visit.
