A British tourist has died while snorkelling off Spain’s Costa Dorada.
The 51-year-old man was swimming off Pixavaques beach in L’Ametlla de Mar, Tarragona, near Salou, on Monday afternoon, according to reports.
People walking on the sand spotted that he wasn’t moving in the water.
They called emergency services and police, paramedics and Red Cross workers desperately tried to revive him.
But they were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene, reports El Pais.

An autopsy was due to be carried out on Tuesday to establish the cause of death. The results have not yet been released, however.
