The Spanish Tourism Office in Dublin, in collaboration with Paradores and Spain’s World Heritage Cities, hosted an exclusive event at the Stephen’s Green Club recently and Lorraine Hales ITTN was in attendance.

The evening featured a welcome address by Laura Pena , Director of the Spanish Tourism Office in Dublin followed by a presentation by Juan José González , Paradores and Barbara Garcia -International Area Sales Manager, Paradores highlighting Spain’s unique cultural treasures and historic accommodations, followed by a networking dinner with key industry professionals and media representatives.

The Mayor of Ayuntamiento de Ubeda, Antonia Olivares representative of Spain’s 15 World Heritage Cities spoke at the event highlighting the importance of promoting Spain as a destination rich in history, culture, and unforgettable experiences.

The evening concluded with closing remarks from her Excellency María Teresa Lizaranzu Perinat, Ambassador of Spain to Ireland.

There were many familiar faces from trade in attendance and we listened with much interest as we discovered the importance behind the Paradores Properties. Representing the Group of 15 World Heritage Cities of Spain, Mayor Antonia Olivares highlighted the extraordinary richness of these destinations: Alcalá de Henares, Ávila, Baeza, Cáceres, Córdoba, Cuenca, Ibiza, Mérida, Salamanca, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Tarragona, Toledo, and Úbeda.

These cities are living treasures — vibrant with architecture, gastronomy, traditions, and above all, their people. Visitors are invited to explore centuries of history and the legacy of diverse civilizations that have left their mark on Spain’s cultural landscape.

The evening also featured a raffle, offering attendees the chance to win flights, accommodation in a Parador, and dinner in one of Spain’s World Heritage Cities. The Lucky winner was Mary Denton Sunway.

We shared a wonderful meal in a convivial atmosphere reflective of the gastronomic delights that Parades Prides itself on.
