The Carrera Roscón de Reyes Marina Dénia is set to return on Sunday 4 January with its 12th edition, maintaining its place as one of the most popular early-year sporting events on the local calendar. Organised by the Club de Rem Marina Dénia, the race blends sport, seasonal tradition and community involvement.
The event covers a distance of five kilometres and is open to runners of different ages and abilities. Race number collection will begin at 10am at Marina Dénia, with the starting signal scheduled for 11am. From the marina, participants will head towards the roundabout at the entrance to the port, then continue along the breakwater promenade. The second lap extends to Marineta Casiana before returning to the finish area.
Prizes will be awarded at 12.30pm. The top three finishers in each category – Infantil, Juvenil, Senior and Veterans, both male and female – will receive a roscón de reyes, staying true to the spirit of the event. A special prize has also been reserved for pets.
One of the defining features of the Carrera Roscón de Reyes Marina Dénia is its inclusive approach. It is among the few races in the area that allows participants to run with dogs in the Can Run category. Fancy dress is also encouraged, adding a playful tone that appeals to families and spectators alike.
Registration is open until January 3 through conxip.com. The entry fee is eight euros, with one euro from each registration donated to the NGO Cerebrum. The organisation works throughout the Marina Alta to defend the rights and interests of people living with acquired brain injury, while also raising awareness of the social challenges linked to this condition.
The race is sponsored by Marina Dénia and the Ajuntament de Dénia. Additional support comes from Pastelería Ramis, Inmobiliaria Mar Salà, Construcciones Duque & 3 Hijos SL, Alucardona, Jaime Mezquida Cerrajería, Blue Garden Dénia, Perrel Ferrys and Construcciones Benimaquia.
With its coastal route, charitable focus and festive prizes, the Carrera Roscón de Reyes Marina Dénia continues to draw strong participation year after year.
