This charitable, non-profit social club has served as a vital hub for the expat community since the 1970s. It began as a gathering spot for American residents sharing stories and support. Today, British members primarily run it, but it remains open and inclusive to all nationalities, whether residents or Esteponeros.
The club opens its doors daily from 1pm to 4pm at Calle San Roque 69, just west a couple of streets back from the Mirador del Carmen. Step inside and enjoy the volunteer-run bar’s affordable refreshments in a relaxed atmosphere perfect for conversation and companionship.
Beers (San Miguel, Mahou, Guinness, John Smiths, or alcohol-free options) start at €1.50 for a 330ml can. Wines, cava, or rosé come by the glass (150ml) for €2 or bottle for €8. Spirits like gin, rum, vodka, whisky, or brandy cost a mere €2-€2.50 per 50ml measure. Soft drinks, fruit juices, tea (€1), filter coffee (€1.50), bottled water (€1), and fortified wines or liqueurs (€2.50) are available. Snacks include crisps (€1-€1.50), toasties (€2), Biscoff biscuits (€0.50), or takeaway meals (€6).
Other than drinks, ACE offers engaging activities: pool and darts, sewing club, tai chi, dancing lessons with Martha Singh, AA meetings, and festive highlights like Christmas carols. Themed events, quizzes, outings, and gatherings create laughter, new friendships, and a real sense of belonging.
