Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s eldest daughter, North West, has officially entered her Instagram era.
North, 12, shared her debut Instagram snap — under her verified @northwest username — on Saturday, December 20. “first post,” she captioned the image.
In the blurry pic, North posed for the camera by holding up two peace signs in a dimly lit room. North rocked a printed Balenciaga T-shirt with a mini skirt and boots, styling her hair slick in a bun.
One day later, North uploaded an image of her hands covering her face as blue hair poked through her furry hat. “🔜,” she wrote.
North has amassed more than 439,000 Instagram followers since the account’s launch. Her bio reads, “account managed by parents.” North’s profile picture is an image of her with blue hair giving two peace signs for the camera while wearing black sunglasses.
While North had not posted on Instagram previously, she shares a TikTok account with Kardashian, 45, named “KimandNorth.” In 2020, Kardashian explained that she was considering making one of her videos with North public after previously opting to keep them private.
“We do lots of TikToks together, and she puts them in drafts,” Kardashian told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “She’s not allowed to post them, but we have a lot of TikToks.”
Earlier that year, North took over her mom’s Instagram account to share videos of herself walking around the house and singing songs. In the video, Kardashian was heard in the background asking if she was “recording.”
Kim Kardashian’s Daughter North West Responds to Criticism of Getting Finger Piercings at Age 12
“North took my phone this morning and when I got it back I realized she figured out how to use IG,” she wrote via her Instagram Story at the time. “She posted so many videos to ‘closest friends.’”
Kardashian welcomed North with West, 48, in 2013. The exes are also parents to sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 6, and daughter Chicago, 7.
In recent months, North has made headlines for her bold looks. Earlier this month, North sent a message to haters who criticized her finger piercing on TikTok. (A dermal piercing lies flat against the skin and does not have a separate entry or exit point, Byrdie explained, noting that finger piercings can be susceptible to infection.)
“This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing,” she captioned a video of her mouthing, “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together.”
Kardashian, for her part, has tried to foster North’s sense of creativity.
“I’m like, ‘Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is,’” Kardashian joked during an October appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “It makes her so happy. I would never take that creativity away from her.”
Kim explained that North had a strong sense of fashion, explaining that is why she “dresses like a tomboy most of the time.”
“She’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t really care if someone says they don’t like my blue hair, or my this or that,’” Kardashian noted. “And she’s really confident and is like, ‘I probably wouldn’t be hanging out with those people.’”
