In addition to these dates, there will also be two local holidays which will be decided by each municipality in the Region

There are around eight festivos which are a public holiday at a national level, so the whole of Spain will be off work and school regardless of whether they live in Murcia, Melilla or Mallorca.
Finally, each municipality in Spain decides two more of its own festivos each year, at least one of which often coincides with the feast day of the local patron saint.
These will be the public holidays in the Region of Murcia in 2026
In addition to these, the Region of Murcia has chosen its regional holiday to be taken on June 9, 2026, which falls on a Thursday. But in order to be able to celebrate that public holiday in the Region of Murcia, it will replace November 2, the Monday following Sunday 1 November (All Saints’ Day). There is no November festivo in Murcia for 2026.
So, the bank holidays which have been agreed for the Region of Murcia for 2026 will be:
- Thursday January 1
- Tuesday January 6
- Thursday March 19
- Thursday April 2
- Friday April 3
- Friday May 1
- Tuesday June 9
- Saturday August 15
- Monday October 12
- Monday December 7 (moved from Sunday December 6)
- Tuesday December 8
- Friday December 25
Subsequently, the 45 municipalities of the Region will determine the two local public holidays that traditionally belong to them, thus forming the complete working calendar for next year.
