A Place in the Sun presenter Jasmine Harman was left comforting a guest on the Channel 4 show
On Wednesday’s emotional edition of A Place in the Sun (January 29), Jesica and Karl, a married couple from Manchester, embarked on a poignant house hunt in Spain’s stunning Costa de la Luz, armed with a £95,000 budget.
However, it was more than the allure of sun-soaked beaches prompting their move; early in the show, Karl shared the touching reason behind their relocation: the couple were honouring the memory of his late son.
The admission moved host Jasmine Harman to compassionately describe the situation as “heartbreaking.”
Throughout the episode, emotions ran high as Jesica and Karl assessed potential family homes. Yet nothing prepared them for the overwhelming moment they set foot in a three-bedroom property that, despite being slightly above their initial budget at £108,000, exceeded all expectations.
Overcome by emotion, Karl struggled for words as tears filled his eyes, managing to express incredulity at what they could afford: “I just never dreamed…with such a small budget,” he said, visibly moved by the space and value presented to them.
Although Jasmine’s third property was a strong contender, it was her final offering that seemed to seal the deal for the couple. After being joined by their daughter Sophia, the trio opted for the two-bedroom property with a sleek modern finish, which was listed as property number five, reports the Mirror.
Karl and Jesica were keen buyers and successfully secured the property for approximately £90,000. Their triumph sparked an outpouring of congratulations from viewers at home.
One fan exclaimed: “They’re crying, Jas is crying. We’re all crying. Genuinely chuffed for them.” Another viewer commented: “Well done. Happy for them.” A third viewer chimed in: “Nice to have a good positive episode of #aplaceinthesun.”
