THE CHARMING city of Malaga has been chosen for an interesting international filming project: a Korean drama, featuring some stunning stars from the Korean acting scene. New K-drama Surely Tomorrow was seen filming in the centre of Malaga on Wednesday, September 17, inspiring a great amount of local intrigue. Not only this, the drama’s stars, Won Ji-An and Park Seo-Joon, are some of the most popular and acclaimed actors in South Korea, and have skyrocketed to worldwide fame following the soaring success of Korean dramas, particularly in the last decade.

The shooting for the Amazon production was being done by Spanish production company Campos Films, who had put up signs for the public warning them that the drama would be shooting to keep them off the location. Notwithstanding, curious passersby and K-drama fans have tried to take a peek at the set or even get an autograph from the main leads.

Actress Won Ji-An rose to international fame for her performance as Player 380 in the second season of Squid Game. The first season of the Netflix drama broke the viewership record for the most streamed non-English language series of all time, as well as the record for the most viewed series in its first three days. Actor Park Seo-Joon is a prominent South Korean talent, known for his performances in What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and Itaewon Class, and who most recently broke into the Western sphere with a role in 2023 superhero film The Marvels.

The drama also filmed in locations in Marbella, particularly in the scenic Alameda Park. Neither location was closed off to traffic, which complicated filming; however, the signs put up by production crew did a fair job of scaring curious fans away.

Surely Tomorrow will premiere soon, exclusively on Amazon’s streaming service, Prime Video.

Spain is one of my favourite places to visit. The weather, the food, people and way of life make it a great place to visit.
