In a show of united resolve, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized that India and Spain stand together against the threat of terrorism, which endangers global peace and stability. Murmu asserted the necessity for both nations to consolidate their resources and capabilities to combat terrorism across all fronts.

During her meeting with Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jose Manuel Albares, Murmu noted the deep historical ties between the two countries, marked by trade, culture, and shared democratic values. She stressed the importance of cooperation on global multilateral platforms such as the UN and G-20 to further mutual goals.

Murmu highlighted the burgeoning economic connections, citing Spain’s expertise in various sectors that align with India’s development strategies. Looking forward, the India-EU free trade agreement is expected to bolster bilateral trade. Celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations, both nations will honor their ties through the India-Spain Dual Year of Culture, Tourism, and AI in 2026.
