A Place in the Sun viewers were left distracted as they tuned in to watch Lisa and Neil look for their dream home in Spain

A Place in the Sun fans took to social media on Monday to express their confusion over a noticeable behaviour running through the series.

Host Ben Hillman was helping couple Lisa and Neil chase their dream of snapping up a place in sunny Spain. With a budget of £100,000, they were on the hunt for a three-bed house in Costa Cálida.

The pair had scoped out properties in the region before, with Lisa noting they could be “third time lucky” and Ben would clinch the deal on their perfect home.

Yet, as viewers tuned in to the property pursuit, they latched onto a particular quirk about the lovebirds, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Each scene that was filmed with the duo had them hand-in-hand, prompting one fan to wonder: “Is it in their contract that the couple has to hold hands all the time????”

Another confused viewer pointed out: “The hand holding continuity is dreadful… “, while this fan pondered: “What if the couple don’t want to hold hands????”

And it seems this wasn’t a first as A Place in the Sun buffs have clocked this before. Viewers shared: “Why do the producers always make them hold hands. It looks so uncomfortable” and “Why do these couples always have to hold hands? What’s wrong with them?”

And it seems it’s not just A Place In The Sun that’s guilty, according to a post on Gransnet, it’s all of the property shows. One commentator posted: “If I see one more couple on a TV property programme bloody holding hands I may either: A) vomit, B) scream to the point where the neighbours call someone with a view to having me taken away, C) Throw something at the television.”

Continuing the tirade, they said: “It is so obvious that they have been asked/told to do it, some actually look quite uncomfortable! It’s not just Location, Location, Location, all the damn property programmes do it, why?”

Spain is one of my favourite places to visit. The weather, the food, people and way of life make it a great place to visit.
