THE ALMERIA Provincial Council is promoting the Costa de Almeria as a prime destination at some of the most prominent tourism industry events in other Spanish locations, as well as in other countries. The Council is showcasing the province’s diverse offerings for tourism to key players in the industry, including the Andalucia Professional Days in Madrid and Portugal, the Aviareps Nordic Roadshow in Denmark, and ‘A Night with the Stars’ in the United Kingdom.

The promotional activities consist of a series of professional networking workshops with large groups of companies and institutions from various cities. The efforts are aimed at key players in the industry, including wholesale and retail travel agencies, aiming at facilitating, expanding, and updating knowledge about the province of Almeria and all it has to offer as a holiday destination.

The AVIAREPS Nordic Roadshow in particular, where the Costa de Almeria was present, was attended by more than 150 industry professionals.

A great opportunity to network with Nordic countries

The event has presented a unique and unmissable opportunity for representatives from the Almeria Provincial Council to network, as well as introduce the Costa de Almeria to the Nordic market. At each of the venues – Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, and Copenhagen – between 40 and 70 potential professional buyers attended.

The Costa de Almeria is particularly popular with foreign tourists, and the networking done at the tourism conferences could go a long way towards boosting the Costa into the consciousness of Nordic professionals and holidaymakers.

Almeria focuses attention on UK, the largest source of foreign visitors

In addition to Nordic visitors, the Almeria representatives are also focusing much of their energy into the province’s main source of tourists: the United Kingdom. In particular, visitors from the UK form one of the largest demographics of holidaymakers in Almeria, following domestic tourism and accounting for one in three tourists arriving in the Almeria airport. Between January and September of this year, more than 636,000 British tourists have visited the Costa de Almeria.

To facilitate this, Costa de Almeria was also present at the First Direct Arena in Leeds during the “A Night with the Stars” event, which brought together call centre professionals from the airline JET2 and the tour operator Jet2 Holidays.

Spain is one of my favourite places to visit. The weather, the food, people and way of life make it a great place to visit.
