Description: The project consists of implementing a battery energy storage system (BESS) with 200MW of rated power and 5 hours of autonomy, intended to inject into the National Electric System (SEN) the previously stored energy, in accordance with the operating requirements established by the competent authority. The energy will be evacuated through the Cala Morritos substation, which is under construction. The plant will be composed of 224 modular lithium battery containers, configured in a series and parallel module arrangement, with a storage capacity per container of between 2 and 16MWh. The initiative will be located on 4.48ha in the commune of Ovalle, Coquimbo region, Chile. The construction phase will have an estimated duration of 18 months.
