Calpe launches festive December fair with parades, performances and artisan stalls.

THE IDYLLIC coastal town of Calpe is gearing up to welcome December with the incredible eleventh edition of its Fira de Nadal, or Christmas Fair, which will see a full schedule of festivities, merrymaking, and creative activities to ring in the holiday season. Starting on Friday, December 5 and lasting until Monday, December 8, the Fair will include a variety of activities for the residents of Calpe, young and old, to enjoy.
A Christmas schedule chock-full of fun events for the whole family
On the evening of Friday, December 5, the XI Christmas Fair will kick off at 6:00pm with children’s games and workshops at the Plaza Beato Sendra, a performance of Enchanted Forest of the North at the Plaza de la Villa, a “Santa’s House” exhibition at the Collector’s Museum, and a spectacular Christmas Dreams parade. The shows will be an over-the-top welcome to the traditional Christmas Fair that has become a signifier of the season for the residents of Calpe.
Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7 will see even more events, activities, and festivities, including several dance, music, and storytelling performances, children’s games and workshops, a youth club workshop, and several festive Christmas parades. It will be a weekend of fun-filled events for all ages, where local talent will have a chance to shine onstage, with Saturday’s events lasting from 12:00pm to 8:00pm, and Sunday’s events lasting one hour longer, until 9:00pm.
Finally, Monday, December 8 will see the closing of the highly-anticipated Christmas Fair, with a performance of Christmas Mischief in Plaza de la Villa at 12:00pm, and a grand parade to celebrate the end of another successful Calpe Christmas Fair.
Christmas markets to get gifts for loved ones and try Calpe’s cultural goods
In addition to the festivities, residents and tourists will be able to roam the many stalls that will be set up by local businesses, selling artisan products, hand-crafted items, sweets, and gifts. It will be a wonderful boost to the local economy and allow for visitors to take something emblematic of Calpe with them, as well as try out local delicacies and cultural goods.
The Fair will take place primarily in the Old Town of Calpe and is being organised by the Calpe Town Hall. All residents are welcome to come and take part in what is sure to be another exciting edition of the Fair, to prepare for the upcoming winter and holiday season and spread Christmas cheer across the beautiful coastal town.
