Costa del Sol is set to ring in the festive season with the return of the eagerly awaited annual Christmas concerts presented by the Choir and Orchestra of Collegium Musicum Costa del Sol. Under the skilled musical direction of Delyth Bressington, the two special performances, titled “The Joy of Christmas,” promise a glorious evening of seasonal music, featuring uplifting rhythms and enchanting melodies that are guaranteed to get audiences into the international holiday spirit.
This year’s programme is headlined by the beautiful sequence of carols, “Joy Has Dawned,” providing a heartwarming foundation for the concerts. Adding further sparkle to the performances, Collegium Musicum is delighted to welcome back the distinguished UK-based violinist, Geoffrey Silver. Silver will join the orchestra to perform two dazzling pieces: the celebrated Winter concerto from Vivaldi’s iconic “The Seasons,” and the spectacular, technically demanding “Carmen Fantasia” by Pablo de Sarasate.
These twin concerts offer two distinct opportunities to experience the musical magic:
- The first performance takes place on Sunday, December 14 at 7.30pm at the elegant IPV Palace & Spa Hotel in Fuengirola. Tickets for this event are priced at €15, with complimentary entry for under 16’s. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the IPV Palace Hotel, Lepanto Café in Fuengirola (main street), or directly from members of Collegium Musicum. They will also be on sale at the door from 7pm, or can be purchased by emailing info@colmus.org.
- The second concert will be held on Tuesday, December 16 at 8.30pm in the stunning setting of the Church of the Encarnación in Marbella. This performance is dedicated to supporting the charities run by the Church, and entry is free, though a kind donation will be requested from attendees at the close of the performance to benefit these worthy causes.
Don’t miss the chance to begin your Christmas celebrations with a special night of live music and festive cheer.
