Costco is a favourite stop for many UK and US expats living in Spain, thanks to a product range that blends familiar American-style bulk shopping with foods deeply rooted in Spanish culinary culture. A viral TikTok video by SnackEatingSnacks, showed an American tourist marvelling that Spanish warehouses have “an entire aisle of olive varieties” – a sight that many UK and US Costco members rarely encounter.
The renewed attention comes as Costco expands globally. According to data published by SGB Online, the retailer achieved $23.64 billion in net sales in November, up 8.1 per cent year-on-year, and now operates 921 warehouses worldwide, including 29 in the UK, 633 in the US, and five in Spain.
