A pensioner who was reported as missing on the Costa del Sol before his flight home to Manchester has been found, his daughter revealed in an emotional update.
Former property developer Clifford Wildgoose had been holidaying with a solicitor friend in southern Spain and was due to board a flight back to Manchester on Sunday (September 21), but concerns were raised after he was not seen.
Clifford, who is originally from Ashton-under-Lyne in Tameside, had previously been seen at around 2am on Saturday morning at Patrick’s 19th Hole Bar, in the upmarket resort of Puerto Banus, near to Marbella.

He had only travelled to Spain for the weekend, but failed to show up to Malaga Airport to return home. His daughter, Melanie Hall, said she was ‘beside herself with worry’.

She previously said Clifford’s friends had no contact from him and that he didn’t arrive at the gate in time for the flight leaving.
In an update, Melanie issued an emotional public post on Facebook claiming that Clifford had been found in the Puerto Banus area following a public appeal.

Thanking members of the public for sharing the news coverage, she penned on Sunday evening: “Just to let everyone know literally five min ago received a call from a kind gentlemen in Puerto Banus who was walking past and recognised my dad from the social media posts, he is now safe and with the police but will need some hospital treatment.
“Thank you to everyone social media worked its magic I can’t thank you all enough.”
