Poland’s economy has grown for three decades and its population is positioned as one of the tourist markets with the greatest growth potential in central Europe. Gran Canaria Tourism aspires to attract a greater presence of Polish clients and offered professionals in the sector an analysis of the situation and potential as part of the presentation of the United Kingdom and Poland Markets offered on Wednesday, October 18. The managing director of Tourism of Gran Canaria, Pablo Llinares, pointed out that it is “a strategic market for us, as part of our commitment to market diversification, with which we are already reducing dependence on historical markets. “The Polish customer knows us and has a high regard for our destination, so they still have a significant margin or capacity for growth.”

The presentation of the analysis of the Polish market for professionals in the tourism sector of Gran Canaria, held on October 18 in the San Borondón Room of Infecar, was attended by the technical managers of Tourism of Gran Canaria in Poland, such as Magdalena Adamczyk and Juana Rosa Alemán and the notable participation of Claudio Andrade Lucena, Minister of Tourism of the Spanish Embassy in Warsaw and head of the Spanish Tourism Office for the Polish market.
The Malaga specialist stated that Poland is, within the EU, one of the economies that has recovered the fastest since the pandemic and one of the ones that has grown the most. “Spain widely surpassed the record of Polish visitors in 2022 and in 2023 we are 22% above the previous year’s figure. And of course, the Canary Islands are the main destination for the Polish market. Last year nearly 450.000 tourists arrived and Gran Canaria is one of the islands that is growing the most,” said the head of the OTS in Warsaw.
