The historic ship, La Nao Santa María, which recreates the vessel that played a vital role in the discovery of America, is about to make its first-ever visits to the ports of Sotogrande and Fuengirola this November and December.
The ship which brings to life “the feat that changed the history of the world” will allow the public aboard on guided tours of its different decks, displaying and inviting visitors to delve into the history of the legendary vessel and get a feel for what it must have been like for sailors more than 500 years ago.
Sotogrande visit
The first stop on its schedule is the Port of Sotogrande, where La Nao Santa María will be docked from November 21 to 23. The ship will be open for visits daily from 10am to 6.30pm. The crew encourages visitors to purchase tickets in advance so as to avoid queues.
Fuengirola stopover
Following its visit to Sotogrande, the Nao will set sail to the Fuengirola Harbour, where it will be open to the public from November 25 until December 8, operating during the same timetable.
These stops are major ones, as Fuengirola is one of the first Spanish ports of call the ship is visiting after completing a major European tour that included stops in France, England, Germany, and Holland.
