Meliá Hotels International, one of Spain’s foremost hospitality groups, is set to expand its portfolio on the Costa del Sol with the addition of Holiday World Resort in Benalmádena. The resort, scheduled to join the Meliá network next March, is renowned as a leading destination for family-friendly, all-inclusive vacations in Málaga, one of Spain’s most popular coastal regions.

Holiday World Resort features a combination of three four-star hotels—Holiday World Polynesia, Holiday World Riwo, and Holiday World Village—alongside the premium Casamaïa apartments. Altogether, the resort offers 864 rooms and has become a benchmark for modern vacation experiences by combining comfort, recreation, dining, and wellness within a single location. Over the years, it has established a reputation for delivering comprehensive leisure experiences for travelers of all ages.

A highlight of the resort is its sprawling Beach Club, which covers more than 29,000 square meters. Guests can enjoy nine outdoor pools, eleven jacuzzis, a wave pool, slides, and themed water areas tailored for families. A diverse range of dining options across the resort ensures visitors experience a rich selection of international and local cuisine throughout their stay. The combination of aquatic fun and culinary variety creates a well-rounded vacation experience for all guests.

Sports and fitness are central to the resort’s offerings. Its 3,600-square-meter sports complex includes tennis, paddle, and basketball courts, a seven-a-side football pitch, and functional training zones. For 2026, the resort will introduce four dedicated pickleball courts, marking it as the first holiday resort in Spain to host a specialized pickleball club. These additions underscore the resort’s commitment to active recreation and cater to both casual players and competitive enthusiasts.

Each of the hotels within the complex offers a distinctive atmosphere and experience. Holiday World Polynesia, with 328 rooms, is inspired by tropical islands and features suites with jacuzzis and sea views. Guests can enjoy an outdoor pool, mini-golf, bowling alley, and a dedicated games area. The hotel also offers wellness amenities including a gym, massage services, and sauna facilities. Six restaurants and bars provide diverse culinary experiences, ranging from casual dining to themed gastronomic offerings.

Holiday World Riwo, designed with families in mind, has 148 rooms and focuses on interactive and playful experiences. The resort features a soft-play area with slides, an outdoor auditorium, games areas, and a pool with a sunbathing terrace. Three restaurants and wellness amenities such as a gym and sauna ensure that both adults and children can enjoy a balanced combination of recreation and relaxation during their stay.

Holiday World Village, the largest hotel in the complex with 360 rooms, emphasizes spacious accommodations and entertainment options. Its facilities include a recreation room with billiards, arcade games, and a small cinema, along with mini-golf and access to the expansive Beach Club. The hotel also provides wellness amenities such as a gym, sauna, and massage rooms. Six restaurants and pubs cater to families, groups, and long-stay guests, offering a full spectrum of dining experiences.

The premium Casamaïa apartments provide 28 fully equipped units, including one-bedroom suites, penthouses, and family apartments. Guests can enjoy a full-service spa and wellness center, the Hydros Spa, as well as indoor and outdoor pools, and a modern gym. Casamaïa offers an exclusive, high-end experience, combining luxury accommodations with comprehensive wellness services for travelers seeking privacy and comfort.

The resort will operate under Meliá Hotels International as Affiliated by Meliá Holiday World, marking the company’s 22nd hotel in the province of Málaga. This expansion reinforces Meliá’s presence in one of Spain’s most vibrant tourism markets and solidifies the Costa del Sol’s reputation as a top destination for both domestic and international travelers.

The integration reflects a focus on sustainable, high-quality tourism, aligning the resort’s operations with modern hospitality standards while responding to evolving traveler expectations. By combining family-focused leisure, wellness amenities, and sports facilities, Holiday World Resort is positioned as a versatile destination catering to a wide range of vacation preferences.

With this acquisition, Meliá Hotels International strengthens its position on the Costa del Sol, offering travelers an unmatched blend of leisure, luxury, and active recreation. Holiday World Resort is poised to continue its evolution as a leading vacation destination, combining modern facilities, wellness experiences, and family-friendly attractions in one of Spain’s most desirable coastal locations.
