A long-standing ambition for many tourist destinations in the Marina Alta is edging closer to reality: increasing the number of hotels so the sector does not depend almost exclusively on apartments and second homes. This has been a major challenge for the region, but a new project now aims to shift that balance.
A €20 million investment in sustainable luxury
SH Hoteles, a Valencian company with more than 25 years of experience in the industry, has officially opened its new four-star establishment, SH Jávea, on Tuesday December 3. Developed in collaboration with the Guillem family of Guillem Export, the project represents an investment of nearly €20 million and was created with the intention of combining “luxury with respect for the environment”, according to the company.
A strategic location in an expanding area
Located on Calle Vall d’Alcalà, just off Avenida dels Furs, the hotel sits in a second-line area of Jávea that is currently undergoing significant urban development, much like other parts of the town.
131 rooms and premium facilities
The new SH Jávea features 131 rooms, and as is usual with this type of opening, the company highlights what it considers an unbeatable location: “Just a few metres from the historic centre and the port”, a position that will “allow guests to enjoy both the cultural and maritime essence of Jávea”.
Wellness, gastronomy and modern comforts
Among its facilities, the hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by gardens, a spa with a thermal circuit, sauna and Turkish bath, and a state-of-the-art gym. Its gastronomic proposal also aims to take centre stage, with a restaurant focused on local produce and a lobby bar designed as a social meeting point.
A boost of over 100 jobs for the community
Javier Vallés, general director of SH Hoteles, emphasised the significance of the opening for the group: “SH Jávea is not just another hotel in our portfolio; it is the realisation of our vision of quality tourism. We wanted to create a space that reflects the authenticity of Jávea, offering a haven of wellbeing that respects the environment and blends into local life. We are very proud to contribute to the area’s economic dynamism, generating around 100 jobs and attracting visitors who appreciate excellence.”
SH Hoteles strengthens its regional leadership
With this opening, SH Hoteles strengthens its leadership in the Valencian Community, adding SH Jávea to a portfolio that includes five-star establishments such as SH Valencia Palace and SH Villa Gadea in Altea. The group manages hotels throughout the Valencian Community and Murcia.
