Two well-loved spots on the Costa del Sol are changing hands, and the community is rallying behind them as they start exciting new chapters.
Lego centre Bloqueria up for sale
Bloqueria, the much-loved LEGO-themed children’s play and party space in Estepona, is looking for a new owner as its founder prepares to leave the town.
The space has operated for three and a half years and has built a strong following among local families. Known for its creative building zones and children’s parties, it has become a familiar spot for parents looking for an engaging indoor activity. Founder Angeliki said the project has been a labour of love supported by a small, dedicated team.
Because the new owner will need to secure a different premises, the transfer price has reportedly been reduced and the terms made more flexible. Angeliki says, “The business is fully equipped and already profitable, offering a ready-made opportunity for someone interested in running a children’s activity space”.
The announcement prompted messages of support from parents, with many expressing hope that Bloqueria will continue under new management.
Angeliki thanked the community for its support throughout the years, saying the response “has meant a great deal to her and that she hopes a new owner can continue the story”.
Anyone interested should make contact through Bloquerias’ social media pages or via WhatsApp on +34 606 982 171.
For now, the future of Bloqueria depends on finding a new owner willing to relocate the project to a fresh space and continue a concept that has become well-liked in Estepona.
New owners for the Lemon Tree Cafe
The beloved Lemon Tree café in Mijas Pueblo is set to reopen under new ownership, in bittersweet news for its loyal customers.
Founders Mike and Craig, who featured on British TV programme New Life in the Sun, had to close temporarily after a difficult year marked by health issues. “Some of you have been asking why we are closed. This year has been tough on both of us, and the staff have been amazing,” they said as they announced that the business had been sold.
In response to the news on Facebook, locals and friends from across the area flocked to comment, with one writing, “What an amazing place and business you have built up over the years, through hard work, sweat and tears.”
Now sold, the café is ready for a fresh start. Mike and Craig expressed their gratitude to the local community, saying they had been “truly overwhelmed” by the support of regulars and friends over the years. They plan to remain active in Mijas Pueblo and continue sharing their journey on the TV programme New Life in the Sun, where they have featured previously, next spring.
New owner Iona commented, “You both have done an amazing job with The Lemon Tree and we are very proud that you deemed us good enough to take over your baby. We plan on continuing in your footsteps and uphold The Lemon Tree to the best of our ability. Love you both.”
The Lemon Tree, known for its friendly atmosphere and homemade dishes, invites the community to give Iona and her family the same warm support that made it a local favourite. With a fresh team and renewed energy, the café will soon be ready to welcome back both loyal customers and newcomers.
Here’s hoping both Bloqueria and The Lemon Tree continue to be an important part of the indie business community on the Costa del Sol.
