Dave Stephens is based in Andalusia and has been travelling all over Spain for 40 years.

He advises:

“I am going to let you in on a secret. If you want stunning beaches, fantastic beaches and food and you want safety, Galicia is stunning. Golden beaches, small Cotswold looking towns built with stone and really friendly and accommodating people, you find that in Galicia. Both the coast and countryside are stunning.

“Of course Santiago de Compostela is great to visit for the cathedral and the town but my secret treasures include: Muxia, also visit playa del lago three miles away, Finisterra, Malpicas, Ribeira and Camarinas.

“These are beautiful coastal towns, unspoilt and stunning. I know all the famous places in Spain. They’re too commercial, expensive, noisy and often a rip off. These places I mentioned are real treasures. You will not be disappointed.”

Spain is one of my favourite places to visit. The weather, the food, people and way of life make it a great place to visit.
