Dreams on Canvas

Ana María Guerra will be showcasing her first-ever painting exhibition in Petrer throughout March. The exhibition will be open from Thursday to Sunday, between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.

Fernando Portillo, the Councilor for Culture, highlighted the importance of this exhibition as a celebration of local talent and encouraged everyone to attend. He said, “Ana Guerra has been painting for many years, and today, she’s sharing her work with us. Her paintings reflect her artistic journey and her passion for art.”

The artist shared her excitement about the exhibition and explained that her interest in painting started with a dream, where she saw her home filled with her own artwork. This inspired her to pursue painting as a way to relax and express herself. “Painting became my escape, and time just flew by when I did it,” she said.

The exhibition includes a variety of her work, from her first painting of a forest with a waterfall to recent pieces like a vibrant Parisian scene. “I enjoy using bright colours, flowers, and landscapes. I’ve even used materials like beach sand for texture in some of my paintings,” Ana explained.

With humility and excitement, she also mentioned that this exhibition is a tribute to her parents. “I’m proud to show my work, even if there are mistakes, because art is about expression and feeling. I want my father to see it and feel proud,” she added.

Spain is one of my favourite places to visit. The weather, the food, people and way of life make it a great place to visit.
