A woman’s Spanish break turned sour, despite the area being celebrated for homing “hidden gems” by previous visitors. The disappointed tourist shared her less-than-stellar experience in a candid TikTok video after visiting the popular travel destination.
The vlogger, known as girl_in_barcelona, ventured to Alicante, Spain, hoping for an exciting new adventure; however, she described the city as “smelly” and “awful”, failing to see what all the hype was about. While she found the port pleasant and admitted there were some “cute” plazas, overall, she felt let down by her visit.
Despite acknowledging the coast around Alicante as “beautiful”, she couldn’t overlook the city’s alleged shortcomings. Her video has since garnered thousands of views and hundreds of comments from viewers sharing their thoughts on the matter.
One viewer concurred with her sentiments, commenting: “Hated Alicante. Never again. Waste of money.” Another added: “I live here and, yes, Alicante is worse each year.”
