The full line-up for Sun And Thunder 2026 has been confirmed, and tickets are already on sale. The international metal festival returns to Marenostrum Fuengirola from August 27 to 29, 2026, bringing three days of live performances to one of the Costa del Sol’s best-known outdoor venues, located directly by the sea.
Positioned as the final major metal festival of the European summer, Sun And Thunder continues to build on the foundations set by its debut edition, expanding its international reach while maintaining a strong connection to Spain and the wider European scene.
Twisted Sister and Avantasia lead the bill
Twisted Sister (USA) will headline the festival as they celebrate their 50th anniversary. After a decade away from touring, the New York heavy metal icons return to perform their signature anthems, including We’re Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock.
Joining them is Germany’s Avantasia, performing their only concert in Spain in 2026. Led by Tobias Sammet, the band is famous for theatrical shows featuring multiple guest vocalists, making each performance unique.
Nordic acts take centre stage
Northern Europe plays a key role in the 2026 programme. Finland’s Lordi marks 20 years of their breakthrough album, The Arockalypse, with a visually striking performance featuring their iconic monster costumes.
Faroe Islands singer Eivør will bring her distinctive voice and immersive style, combining Nordic folk influences with modern soundscapes to create a performance that resonates with Northern European audiences.
German strength and European variety
Germany contributes two major names. Primal Fear represent classic heavy and power metal, while Destruction, pioneers of European thrash metal, bring more than four decades of live experience to the stage.
Elsewhere in Europe, Harakiri for the Sky (Austria) deliver emotionally charged post-black metal, Gaerea (Portugal) are known for intense and ritual-driven performances, and Calva Louise (UK) blend alternative metal with punk and electronic influences.
American acts and Spanish representation
From the United States, Adam and the Metal Hawks provide classic 1970s and 80s hard rock energy, while Nefarious, a thrash supergroup featuring members of legendary Bay Area bands, delivers high-intensity performances.
Spain will be represented by Debler, Vendetta FM, Sovengar, and local Fuengirola band Airos, ensuring the festival highlights national and regional talent alongside international stars.
Three days of metal by the sea
The festival spans three days. Thursday opens with a single-stage format, offering a focused introduction for early attendees. Friday and Saturday feature the main festival nights with headline acts and full-scale performances. This schedule provides a well-paced experience, balancing intensity and enjoyment.
