The main festivity is celebrated with the Grand Carnival Parade and ends with the traditional Burial of the Sardine, a ceremony that is a true explosion of colour and joy. Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona
Catalonia also knows how to celebrate the Carnival and Vilanova i la Geltrú is one of the best examples. The traditional troupes, known as the “Xarangas”, and the parades of giants fill the streets with music and colour.
For several days, residents and visitors participate in costume contests and cultural activities. The city dresses up to welcome all those who want to enjoy a carnival full of tradition and fun.
