Spain has long been one of the most popular destinations for British holidaymakers on a budget, offering numerous hotspots with reasonably priced accommodation and budget airline flights.
According to the Office for National Statistics, Spain was the most visited country by UK residents in 2023, with a whopping 17.8 million packing their bags. Preliminary data suggests it remained in the top spot last year, too.

Several of Spain’s most sought-after destinations are served by daily flights from budget airlines such as easyJet and Ryanair, with fares starting from as little as £13.

Palma (Majorca)
Majorca’s capital Palma often sees deals from £13 to £40 one-way (with return fares often between £25 and £90 in off-peak/flash deals). Some of the cheapest offers at the moment are from London Luton and Manchester.

Málaga
Málaga also gets one-way flights from London for around £13 to £40, with returns typically ranging from £28 to £120, depending on the season. The cheapest flights currently on sale are from London Gatwick, Southend, and Newcastle.
Alicante
One-way deals are currently available with Ryanair from around £13, and more expensive single fares are only £32. Typical return fares range from £40 to £110, with London Gatwick offering some of the most affordable flights.

Spanish destinations typically offer reasonable accommodation, though it’s worth cross-checking reviews, as some locations might be more, erm, ‘luxurious’ than others.
That said, if you are prepared to be flexible with your dates and locations, it’s possible to find a bargain for perfectly comfortable three and four-star properties.
