Janet and Stuart love the buzz in the city of Valencia so have decided to take the plunge and move permanently to the city. They want to be able to enjoy all the theatres and restaurants that are on offer, with only a short commute back to their new home and garden. Jasmine Harman has lined up 5 very interesting options but will any one impress enough for them to make the move?

About the area

Valencia is a beautiful region that’s really easy to reach, with its airport welcoming nearly 10 million passengers each year, thanks to direct flights from all over the UK. The city, founded by the Romans, is packed with history and interesting architecture, alongside some modern additions like the avant-garde City of Arts and Sciences, home to Europe’s largest aquarium. But don’t forget, we are on the coast here, so of course there’s a stunning stretch of Mediterranean beach, as well as some pretty countryside towns and villages like Montserrat to the southwest, where we’ll be focusing this search.

Homes within easy reach of Valencia city can be pricey. Three-bedroom detached houses with a pool close to amenities typically start at around £260,000. However, just over half an hour’s drive away, you can find similar properties for a hundred grand less.

Spain is one of my favourite places to visit. The weather, the food, people and way of life make it a great place to visit.
