On Saturday, January 10, seasonal markets will be available in Alicante, Almoradi, Catral, Elche, Guardamar del Segura, Orihuela and Orihuela Costa, La Marina, and Santa Pola. On Sunday, January 11, markets will be available in Algorfa, Campoverde, Elche, Guardamar del Segura, Orihuela, and Pilar de la Horadada. Most of these markets will be open in the mornings, typically from 8:00am to 1:00pm.

Guardamar del Segura, Elche, and Orihuela stand out as top market hotspots on the Costa

Several of these markets are some of the best known on the Costa Blanca South and attract visitors from all across the region and beyond. For example, Guardamar del Segura’s markets are popular for their size and variety of goods to choose from, including everything from fresh produce and local delicacies to clothing, household goods, and handmade crafts.

Elche’s markets are popular as well, thanks to the town’s reputation for its impeccable craftsmanship and design activities and programmes. Orihuela and Orihuela Costa, already fan-favourite destinations for tourists, draw both local shoppers and international crowds looking for authentic and unique artisan products.

Winter markets, an essential driver for local economy and artisans

These charming markets are not only essential for the local economy and for the recognition of the hard work of Costa Blanca craftsmen, but are also a fascinating glimpse into everyday life on the coastline for visitors and remind them of their time there, whether it be on a holiday or as a permanent place of residence. The winter season also brings a steadier, more relaxed pace, making it an ideal time to browse, and chat with traders.
