Madrid — Ambassador to Spain, Aws Al-Aud, held talks with Fernando Heredia Noguer, Director of International Relations at Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture and fisheries.

During the meeting, both sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, with a particular focus on enhancing technical collaboration in marine fishing, managing fishery resources, and benefiting from Spanish expertise in developing fishery industries.

The talks also addressed the possibility of organizing training and capacity-building programs for Yemeni professionals in sustainable fishing practices, as well as in the preservation and storage of fish products.

As part of the discussions, the Yemeni side presented a segment of the investment opportunities matrix available in Yemen’s fishing sector, highlighting areas where Spanish expertise and investment could play a role in advancing the industry.

Diplomatic observers noted that the meeting reflects Yemen’s efforts to expand international partnerships in food security and resource management, while Spain continues to emphasize cooperation with developing countries in sustainable agriculture and fisheries.

Spain is one of my favourite places to visit. The weather, the food, people and way of life make it a great place to visit.
